Collegiate Gothic R(ev)ivals

Held in the utmost contempt by the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Spurning, students on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University are clearly crushed by the tower's smoldering disdain.

Constructed in 1926, the historic building has continuously despised all who attend CMU and to a lesser degree the student bodies of Catham and Carlow colleges, whom it compares to, "simple street urchins, blissfully ignorant of substandard architectonics."

The cathedral is also known to become nauseated by Point Park University as well as feel superior in every way to Duquesne's "Old Main" Administration Building.

Good Lord (British)!

Remember those drawings you used to do in fourth grade of your ultimate dream house? You know the one with the McDonald's for a kitchen, rooftop pool/helipad, fireman's pole going from your bedroom down to your secret underwater submarine base/bowling alley/movie theater, and a moat filled with alligators, sharks, and alligator/shark hybrids? Well, somebody actually built that house, and thought of one way better than your idiot 10-year-old brain ever did.
Recognize this guy?
Lord British
Yes, you do. His name is Richard Garriott, AKA Lord British. He created the first MMORPG and is now so goddamned rich that he paid his way into space. As in the thing that is not Earth. In a similar manner he built that which is the most holy of nerddom, Britannia Manor. There is also some pretty serious virtual reality/actual reality crossover stuff going on here that I don't really understand. Just watch the damn video.

SOURCE Update 13

A man walks along a lonely beach. Suddenly he hears a booming voice, "DIG!"

He looks around: nobody's there. I am having hallucinations, he thinks. Then he hears the voice again, "I SAID, DIG!"

So he starts to dig in the sand with his bare hands, and after digging for some time he finds a small chest with a rusty lock.

The deep voice says, "OPEN!"

Okay, the man thinks, let's open the thing. He finds a rock with which to break the lock, and when the chest is finally open, he sees a lot of gold coins.

The booming voice says, "TO THE CASINO!"

Well the casino is only a few miles away, so the man takes the chest and walks to the casino.

The deep voice says, "ROULETTE!"

So he changes all the gold into a huge pile of roulette tokens and goes to one of the tables, where the players gaze at him in disbelief.

The deep voice says, "TWENTY-SEVEN!"

He takes the whole pile and drops it at the twenty-seven. Everybody is quiet when the croupier throws the ball.

The ball spins, spins. . . stops at the twenty-six.

The voice booms, "SHIT!"

Just made this! It is what I am doing most of the time.

Happy Valentines Day. . . from SATAN!

Chicks in cars. Being doing since 1950.

Turkey has no idea how fucked he is.

Not sure.

Not so nice one with breeding of the dog til it is permanently sad.

"Got me a rabs."

Not so nice one with the benches? What the fuck architect?

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, and they're like, "it's better than yours." Damn right it's better than yours. I can teach you, but I have to charge.

Ha! Fuck you racist guy!

Not what money is for.

Take two and don't call me tomorrow.

She has obviously read A History of Boners.

Are you reading a blog right now because of North-American zoning regulations? Maybe.

Robin Soulier

Total sucker for these.

These are photos of puddles in New York and Paris. Sometimes real life is pretty surreal.

Reversible Destiny Architecture

These are some Japanese dudes that think somehow they're going to live forever by building aparments with bumpy floors. Actually read their spiel and it's about like, when your floor is bumpy you're like not lulled into a sense of security/sleepiness...? It's like, when your floor is bumpy you're using all your faculties to not trip over...? Um, it's actually kind of hard to explain. Probably because it's a very silly idea.

Pretty neat park-thing they built.

Concept U-Haul.

Bump.

Yeah, I live in that apartment complex down the road. You know, the one where huge babies live?

Reversible Destiny they call it.

SOURCE Update 5

A little old lady is starved for companionship, so she buys a couple of monkey. The years go by and she becomes very attached to them. As it happens, both monkeys die on the same day. Not wanting to part with them she takes the dead monkeys to the taxidermist. The taxidermist askes her, "Would you like them mounted?"

"No," she replies, "just holding hands."

Nice one with the murals and the rats!

I feel like a normal dog would hate this.

I feel like I have posted this pic before.

Whoa.

Paleface face-ass? I don't get this. It's an ad for suntan lotion I think.

Chinese theater.

Good old days.

Straightforward and instructive. Very helpful.

No words. Wait, is that thing dead?

I feel like I posted this pic already, also.

I think this is a harmonium. Invented by Ben Franklin, never got very popular because it tends to make people sick to their stomachs. You wet your fingers and these glass thingies spin around. It's like that trick with your finger and the wine glass that really doesn't impress anybody at the table but an instrument.

The band Air is alright, but I'm really liking their visual style. Like they have band practice in a mountain-top space studio on Mars.
